Why is Hotel Serpiano the best Swiss Hotel with a view around Ticino, Switzerland for our short break?…
I was looking for a short break to be able to relax and unwind, away from the busy city centre and away from work. I wanted to experience a relaxing and care-free holiday which is why I have chosen Switzerland, in particular the Ticino region which is the Italian region or part of Switzerland. Located just 45 minutes drive from Milan, Italy.
INTERESTING FACT:
Switzerland is a country surrounded by France, Italy, Austria, Germany and Liechtenstein. Which is why the people residing in Switzerland can speak 5 different languages; German, French, Italian, English and Romansh.
Why choose Hotel Serpiano?
Hotel Serpiano was a previous retreat and recreational place perfect for those in need of a piece of peace and quiet away from the hassle and bustle.
INTERESTING FACT:
Did you know the Hotel Serpiano is located on top of Monte San Giorgio which was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2003. If you are a fan of Jurassic Park, there is a fossil museum nearby housing fossils dating back 200 million years ago.
After successfully parking our car on the guests parking area the receptionist greeted us warmly in both Italian and English, we were then offered a welcome drink which is cucumber infused water perfect after a 45 minutes drive from Milan Malpensa.
The receptionist presented our key after sorting out our room for 2 nights and was briefed on how to get to our room and where the restaurant, pool and other amenities are at. We were also offered a voucher with Free Welcome Drinks for 2, and 10% discount on the a la carte dinner on the in-house restaurant which can be used throughout your entire stay. Also, luckily during our visit the Spa centre was offering a 30% discount on all massage therapy.
NOTE:
Make sure to ask the receptionist for any offers available to make the most of your stay and make the most of your budget.
Our overall first impression of their customer service was wonderful, as the receptionist made the effort to inform us about all the offers that is going on for the day and what activities they offer. She also handed us a booklet for the wellness and spa centre just in case we wanted to make the most of our stay.
Beside the reception desk is a huge key holder shelving unit made of wood revealing the number of rooms available. The reception has a cosy and shabby chic inspired interior creating a homey and welcoming feel to all guests visiting the hotel.
On the right hand side of the reception desk is the brochure/magazine corner all about Switzerland and the municipalities surrounding lake Lugano.
